Greetings. Two new pieces available on Sheet Music Plus. Modern Impression of an Ancient Chant for Saxophone quartet. This piece is written in a combination of Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Baroque styles. There is a contrapuntal duet for the Soprano and Baritone saxes in the middle. The difficulty is not advanced, it's appropriate for Intermediate players. Also, this is adapted from the original which is for Brass Quartet or Quintet. That is called simply Chant and is available from MusicforBrass.com
Then there is I Am the Grass, a setting of a poem by Carl Sandburg (1878-1967). The original poem is called Grass. Sandburg 's work has been verified in the public domain by a representative of his estate and memorial park.
This somber reflection on the tragedy of War is one of my first Art Song settings. It is for Advanced or Advanced-Intermediate performers. I welcome your comments on this song.
